New Delhi : today is 20 november,and this day is celebrated as the united nation's (UN) Universal Children's Day, which was established in 1954, is celebrated on November 20 every year to promote the international togetherness and awareness among children worldwide. UNICEF , the united nations children's fund , promotes and coordinates this D-Day, which also works towards the children's welfare. on this special day many schools and institutions make some special efforts to inform the children about their rights and Empowerments. teachers stimulate their students to think about their potential and will power and explain the ideas of "rights " in countries where the rights of children are generally well respected.
This Day in not a public holiday , celebrated for the global observance. on 20 November ,1959, the UN general assembly adopted the declaration of of rights child and on november20, 1989 it adopted the convention on the rights of child. so this day also mark the anniversary date of UN General Assembly adopted both the declaration and convention on child's rights.
First Traffic signal was granted on this day (20 November ,1923)
2.On this day first US patent Traffic Signal was granted on November 20 , 1923 ,which was invented by Gerett Morgan was one of the first to apply for and acquire a U.S. Patent for an inexpensive to produce traffic signal.the Morgan Traffic signal was a T-Shaped pole unit that featured three positions , Stop, Go and all - directional stop position . this 'third position'. Morgan added in his statement after invention that my invention contemplates the provision of signal which may be promptly and cheaply manufactured to reduce road accidents.
