Gurugram, March 6 : Haryana government has increased the yearly Bar License Duty by Rs 3 Lakh according to Excise Policy 2017-18. Bar owners have expressed grief over this step taken by the government.
Bar Owners are saying that firstly, they were in problem due to demonetisation. And now, they might will have to bear more losses due to this increase in license fees.
This is told that the increase in the license fees will result in at least 20% to 25% increase in the alcohol rate.
Now the bar owners will have to pay Rs 15 lakh instead of Rs 12 Lakh as License Fees.
MG Road situated Bar owner Ravi Kumar said that the government's this step will have ill affect on the business. They are already facing loss and this increase in license fees will create more problems for them.
Other bar owner Bhupendra Dagar said that the government is not working in interest of the Bar owners. They first had sent notice to 126 Bars which were in 500 metre circumference of highway.
Government earns in crore due to Excise duty. The bar owners have protested in year 2015-16 against the increment in license fees.
