Chandigarh, March 8: Haryana Government has decided to enhance the rate of ex-gratia grant given to the family members of the Central Para Military Forces (CPMF), who die in harness or are disabled in performance of their official duties while serving in operational area in war or in terrorist attack.
Stating this at Chandigarh today, a spokesman of Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department said that in case of death in war and action against terrorists and death during internal security duty, operations, election duty, natural calamities and rescue operations the rate of assistance has been enhanced from 20 lakh to 50 lakh rupees.
He said that in case of disability of 75 per cent and above, the ex gratia grant has been enhanced from 15 lakh to 35 lakh rupees, in case of disability between 50 per cent to 74 per cent the rate of assistance has been enhanced from 10 lakh to 25 lakh rupees and in case of disability between 25 per cent to 49 per cent, the ex gratia grant has been enhanced from five lakh to 15 lakh rupees.
He said that the enhanced amount is applicable to the casualties occurring on or after the 1st of November last, and is payable to Haryana residents at the time of joining the service.
