Today is the 75th birthday of Big B alias Amitabh Bachchan, the biggest superstar of the century and Bollywood. Amitabh Bachchan is known by many names in the cinema. Someone calls him a don of Bollywood, then someone knows the name of Shehansha and Big B.

Born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, Amitabh Bachchan is related to the Hindu Kayastha family. His father, Dr. Harivansh Rai Bachchan was a famous Hindi poet, while his mother, Teji Bachchan, was related to Karachi's Sikh family.

Due to his voice of Amitabh Bachchan, was rejected once in All India Radio audition, but today the world is addicted for his voice. Today Bachchan is known for his tremendous voice. Famous film director Satyajit Ray was impressed by the voice of Bachchan that he decided to use his voice for a commentary in the chess player because he did not get any suitable role for them.

His career started in films as an artist in Saat Hindustani, directed by Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, in this film, Amitabh starred alongside actors like Utpal Dutt, Madhu and Jalal Agha. The film did not show anything special, but Bachchan won the award for Best Newcomer Actor in the National Film Award for his first film.

Amitabh played the role of supporting actor in the 1971 film Anand. This movie has given Bachchan a special identity. In the film, lead actor was Rajesh Khanna. For this movie BIG B received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor .

Amitabh had to struggle very hard in his early days. Amitabh Bachchan's early career was not much successful. 13 of his films were flopped. In the days of his struggle, he stayed in the house of actor, director and comedian Mahmud Saheb for seven years.

In 1973, when Prakash Mehra gave him the role of Inspector Vijay Khanna in his film Zanjeer, a new turn came in his career. Prior to this film, Amitabh had done romantic rolls, but Zanjeer gave Amitabh Bachchan a new role known as Angry Youngman.
