PADMAAVAT Row: Rajasthan And Madhya Pradesh Governments Reached SC To Ban Film

Controversies over the Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Padmaavat' is not ending yet. Even after the Supreme Court ordered regarding the film release, the Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments have once again reached the Supreme Court, and have demanded a ban on 'Padmaavat' film in their state.

Bench comprises of Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, Justice AM Khanvilkar and Justice D.A. Chandrachud will hear the appeal of these BJP ruling states. Film Producer's counsel Harish Salve has opposed the trial immediately. But, the bench has sidelined their opposition. The film is to be released on January 25. But, its opposition is not getting stopped.

Significantly, before that the producers of the film Padmaavat had approached the Supreme Court for the ban of the film in several states. After which, the Supreme Court had issued the directives to release the film Padmaavat all over the country on the petition of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Despite that decision by apex court the protests and violent demonstrations of the Karni sena and Rajput society, are not ending. Now Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh governments have reached the Supreme Court to ban the film Padmaavat in the state. Their petition will be heard on January 23.
